Here, at the CEPE (European Centre for youth Products), I had the privilege to meet and be taught by one of the most significant marketing icons, Laëtitia CONDAMIN (in photo above) . You can tell she is doing something she truly loves from her simple smile under the mask. Her tremendous guiding spirit made us indeed enjoy the lesson.
Laëtitia has had a remarkable career path in the world of multinationals. After working with many well-known companies like Kraft Food, L’Oréal, Suchard, and Unilever at the « Consumer Insights » service, she is currently working as a professor-researcher at EM Normandie Business School. And not to forget to mention her thesis on “the stakes of ethical marketing in the food industry” under the supervision of our dearest CEPE director, Valérie Inés De La Ville.
Thanks to the CEPE’s cooperation with her, Laëtitia came this year too to give us a lecture on « Youth Marketing » for the students of the master 2 Marques et Produits Jeunesse / Digital Youth Marketing. And when I say « too, » I mean it’s not her first time to be here with us.
Almost forget about the startup in the title above! So, this was the first lesson I learned from Mrs. CONDAMIN, which is that marketing is crucial for any business. It is the cornerstone of any business model. From the moment you had the idea of launching your startup, you must consider marketing! Startup means a new business on the market; that’s right, you have said it « market, » so you need to study your market, your target audience, you need to define your unique selling proposal!
During the lecture with Mrs. Condamin, we assimilated all the concepts of the marketing rationale. We learned how to look at a wider range of the environment, taking it from all its cultural, social & economic aspects in which we will implement our marketing strategy. The key issue is how to choose the right market ideally with the right target audience for the exact offer to promote? We also learned about the segmentation, targeting, and positioning concepts which are the heart of the marketing strategies. We learnt that there is a big difference between strategic, operational, and organizational marketing, and trust me, it’s complicated! But with the detailed explanation of Mrs. Condamin, it was like a piece of cake.
It’s not just about the explanations but also about the case studies! Here at the CEPE we are used to doing case studies, inspired from actual real ones! We are tough with dynamism & interaction. And honestly, that’s what makes the master experience here unique. You do not just have some boring lectures with a ton of standard assignments! Here you rather have a dynamic program with projects to work on, which puts you in the heart of professional life. Here you are prepared for the real world! You learn how to interact professionally, lead a professional marketing meeting, think like a marketer, negotiate & convince others with your point of view.
Also, at the master Digital Youth Marketing (MPJ), we are offered the opportunity to meet with many iconic professional people in the youth industry, CEOs, co-founders,etc. All of this is thanks to our outstanding CEPE director, Valérie Inés De La Ville’s constant efforts. And thanks to her non-stop work, we, the students of the CEPE, are having this terrific experience.
Special Thanks to Laëtitia Condamin & to our dearest director Valérie Inés De La Ville
